- Single face. This is the least durable kind of cardboard. It is ideal for lining the interior of boxes for secondary product protection. While it is not durable enough to be used as a shipping box, it is the most affordable kind of corrugated packaging you can buy.
- Single wall. This is the most common kind of corrugated package. It is composed of one medium piece of luted liner glued between two pieces of liner board to form a box. This material is suitable for products that don’t break easily.
- Double wall. This is a single wall cardboard, times two. It offers an additional layer of security to any corrugated package and makes boxes more feasible for stacking. Often, this packaging option is used for industrial containers or heavy products.
- Triple wall. This is a cardboard substitute for wooden crates. It is suitable for shipping heavy, industrial-grade products.
Kinds of Flutes
Corrugated flutes are pieces of liners that exist between the liner board. You will find them when you take any box and cut it, designed to offer it some durability and strength. There are different kinds o flutes and choosing a better one gives the box more walls.
- B flutes. Often, this is a 1/8-inch thick flute best for smaller cartons that will not carry heavy items.
